Petrol and debit cards

I stopped at a BP this morning to fill my car up with petrol. I did what I have done a million times before; I gave the gentlemen my keys, asked him to please fill up the car and went to draw money from the ATM.Alas the ATM was not working. I found the owner of the store wandering around and told him. He made some small talk joke about me breaking it, haha, thanks where can I get money? He laughed, looked at me, laughed, looked at an advert, chuckled - in frustration now - and told me that BP have spent a boat load of money advertising that they now accept debit cards as payment for petrol.Who knew about this? Who has heard a BP advert? Have you? 'Cause I haven't.Anyways, I think it's fantastic. I never really quite understoof why petrol was the one thing that was either cash or petro-card that almost no one had.Get to a BP today and pay with your debit card. You know why? Because they like to keep you moving.

Don't Pump Petrol? What A Load Of KAK

What the hell is me not pumping petrol on a specific day going to do? Sure, there will be a few thousand people not pumping petrol, so fucking what? The petrol companies will lose a couple million, a couple hundred million? And then? Then the next day all the people who didn't pump petrol on that specific day will go the next day and pump their petrol and then give their money back to the people they are protestin.I know this sounds defeatist, but lets just be honest for a second, the big organisations don't give a royal shit about anything that any of us do.At the moment I can't really think of a better alternative to this sort of protest if it even counts as a protest but I am certain that this is not the best way to do it. If you are truly committed to the cause then go get yourself a hybrid car or start riding bicycles or catching public transport to ease up on the consumption of petrol but be logical about it.Can anyone think of a more effective way to combat the high petrol prices? Anyone?
